the Garden of Eden

Today's energy is two fold. First we have the 5 of Wands, a scene of children engaged in mock fight. This card represents our intention. We can see that the wands are all over the place, going every which way. When we have our eye on that awesome thing we saw on a commercial, on that car, on that meal at lunch time, on that crush, we become scattered. We loose our focus and our energy is sapped from us.

Crossing today's card is the Lovers. This card is very interesting to look at. We first see a mighty angel with arms open wide standing in the heavens. Next a beautiful scene of the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. We see them as they were, before the fall. This is the same energy you feel at the beginning of any new exciting project you are involved with, or any new relationship. Everything is new and fun and happening so fast. This is a cautionary tale- we know how this story ends because we are living it even now.

When our intention is singly focused we can properly evaluate our position in life. We are not as easily swayed by "snakes in the grass". Our intention is energy. Energy that comes from within. We can waste it- or use it to our advantage. Focus your mind on your dreams and goals. Figure out the necessary steps you will need to take to accomplish them. This will align your intention with your life path and create a powerful field of energy for you to work in.

Create yourself.

Intention and Focus

The 8 of Pentacles shows a young man hard at work on his craft. He works tirelessly with dedication. His unkempt appearance suggests he has neglected his well being for that which he loves.

We can learn much from this gentleman as we apply his knowledge to our lives. We must keep our aim on our goals and set-up our life in a way that will allow us the time to pursue our dreams. The hammer and the chisel remind us that we must acquire the proper tools if we want to succeed in our endeavors.

8 is the number of manifestation in our lives. It Represents the work we do to make our lives better and the rewards that come with it. It is a number of karma. What you sow in life you will reap. Bear in mind as you walk your path that the energy we put out into the universe comes back to us, like attracts like. Keep you intentions positive to keep you life positive.

Notice the tree that he has hung 5 of the pentacles on. Be like a tree, always growing and reaching up to heaven. A tree is strong because it is dedicated to a single focus. It moves in one direction, always seeking the light. Keep your intention focused so you dont over extent your energy.

Establishing your Goals

Today's energy is the 3 of wands. The energy of the number 3 is creativity, birth, growth, expansion, and increase. The 3 of Wands deals with the expansion side of the energy. Using creativity to grow your ideas into reality.

The Page of Pentacles manifests the energy of the 3 of Wands, the birth of ideas into reality. Use the enthusiasm of the youthful spirit as you set about to create new projects this week. Red represents the desires of the heart, green is the growth of your ideas, orange is creativity, yellow is the power of the intellect. Use these energies to manifest your creative endeavors.

The King of Wands is the power of creativity, the productive ideas with the power to manifest. The genius behind the creative flash. Are you leading a team of brain-stormers? Harness his restless energy to fuel your meetings, to light a fire of desire in your team.

The 3 of Pentacles is the recognition of a job well done. The craftsman of the well designed product. Harness this energy in your work this week to make the best product you can and you will have the faith of your peers.

A New Month

The beginning of a new month, May 1st brings with it powerful energies. It is also a very powerful day because we are halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. The Queen of Swords represents this energy very well.

She sits upright in her throne in front of a spring sky. A stern look is on her face as she holds out her left hand. In her right hand she holds the upright sword. Manifestation is rolling into our lives quickly like a spring storm, we must have a clear mind and make quick decisions if we want to get the most out of our day.

Our crossing energy is the Knight of Wands, riding his excited steed on conquest of new ideas. We notice the pyramids in the background hinting at secret knowledge of the divine. Ideas are a flash of intuition that you must act on or loose. Use the energy of the knight to capitalize on fresh ideas in your work day.

Our past energy flow is appropriately the Death card as the month of April has just ended and her influence is fading. We see change in the weather as flowers begin to replace the rains as well as in our lives. The Knight of Pentacles is the flow we will be moving into, a steady and calculated flow. Bringing our ideas to life with concise decisions and nurturing them to full bloom.

Spiritually the Queen of Wands brings her fire energy from above. She is our foundation. She is strong and independent, self sufficient. The sunflowers show health and sacred energy, an understanding of the inner workings of the universe. Allow her light to guide your path as you ponder the Divine.

Likewise the Moon issues her mysterious energy from below and we have to deal with it as we walk our spiritual path. Notice the same pillars as the death card. The moon like life goes through stages, waxing and waning. It speaks of the wild and tame parts of our being. The moon is also associated with psychic messages.

Use the energy of the moon to channel the messages of the Queen of Wands as we grow and change in this new month.

Justice

The card of the day today is Justice.

Justice sits in her throne between two pillars. A purple curtain hanging above her and shows she uses the spirit to make wise decisions. She holds the sword of truth and the scales in her hands. Notice the square nature of the card. This tells us of the importance of balance as well as the scales. Be in this world but not of this world. The sword represents manifestation. Karma would be another great name for this card as it deals with cause and effect. Your decisions have consequences and you will have to answer for them. Some of the light, some selfish.

This brings us back to the idea of balance between the world and the spirit. You must feed both in order to live a health life. This reminds me of a Native American parable that represents the card of Justice very well.

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life...

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.

"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"

The old chief simply replied,
"The one you feed."

Gift of a Child

The 6 of Cups reminds us of the innocence of childhood. When the world was always a wonder. This card also resonates with goodwill and love. The cups are arranged 1, 1, and 4. The number one resonates with individuality, creation, uniqueness, and intuition. This is emphasized with the second cup the children are sharing. The first cup is placed on a rock pillar, likewise the 4 cups at the bottom resonate with strong foundations. System of order, inner-wisdom, loyalty, and passion- drive.

They remind us that even in our adult word it is important to keep a balance between all that we have learned and our inner child's wonder and joy. That theme is the energy of today as we go back to work, don't fall into the trap of the "real world". Remember your joys and seek small moments throughout your day to smile.

The Devil card in the position under the 6 of Cups takes on the energy of that card. The Devil concerns our spiritual life and all the trappings there in. Notice the chains tethering the male and female energies to the beast; They are loose and self imposed. The great Light Bringer hides his promised light from the two figures and they are enclosed in darkness. Don't search in vain for others to follow to spiritual enlightenment. Seek for yourself the wonders of the Divine. Remember that childlike quality you used to possess. Share what you find with others but give them room to grow on their own.

The King of Swords is all about manifestation. He is the ruler of communication and language. Like the tongue the sword is sharp. When this King is in your reading take notice for he speaks with power. Also pared with the Devil this card is doubly strong. The double crescent moon tops butterflies. The moon is a symbol of wisdom, wisdom the caterpillar uses in the metamorphosis to a butterfly. One must be sure when in the act of creation because once spoken words cannot be unspoken. Be wise in choosing your words. Be pure in heart like a child and you will manifest with power.

The last card is the Ace of Pentacles. Normally we want to read this card as money and the material. In this case I lean more toward a lantern. A lantern is a symbol of wisdom, a light to the unillumined. Gods hand stretches forth from the clouds with a gift of divine knowledge. In this position the card takes on the energy of the 6 of Cups as well as the other two cards from the bottom row. This card is in the future position but being an ace its energy is present in all of the cards. What can we learn from the previous cards that we can use in the here and now? In our lives at work? What is it that you really need in order to be happy and "successful"?

Consider the 6 of Cups as you go about your workday, Learn from it and grow.
